Job Description

• Provide first-line technical support for hardware and software issues including troubleshooting computers printers network connections and other devices.

Description

  • Provide first-line technical support for hardware and software issues, including troubleshooting computers, printers, network connections, and other devices.
  • Help employees with some of their more basic computer needs like setting up new users and managing backup, security passwords;
  • Check computer hardware (HDD, mouses, keyboards, etc.) to ensure functionality;
  • Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software, including operating systems, business applications, security tools, and more.
  • Assist in the maintenance and administration of network systems (LAN/WAN), including switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Monitor and implement security best practices, including the management of firewalls, and antivirus programs.
  • Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
  • Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work;
  • Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)
  • Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule;

·        Create and maintain detailed documentation for system configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures.

  • Assist with upgrading software and ensuring systems are up-to-date with the latest security patches.
  • Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders;
  • Work closely with other teams and departments to resolve IT-related issues and provide technical expertise.
  • Investigate and diagnose network problems, collecting IT usage stats, make recommendations for improving the company's IT systems and carrying out routine configuration and installation of IT solutions; and
  • Perform other duties/tasks as directed by the top management deemed necessary for the company.

Requirements

  • Degree in computer science or information technology.
  • Certification in Microsoft, Linux, or Cisco is advantageous.
  • Prior experience in tech support, desktop support, or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Windows/Linux/Mac OS.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with remote desktop applications and help desk software.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication.
