The Cost and Production Engineer will assist in managing the production processes and controlling costs for the company's signage and fabrication projects. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience and development opportunities for a recent engineering graduate. The candidate will work closely with senior engineers and management to ensure the efficient and timely delivery of high-quality products while learning industry-specific practices and gaining valuable skills in production engineering.
Support the development and implementation of production schedules under the guidance of senior engineers.
Monitor daily production activities and assist in ensuring targets and quality standards are met.
Collaborate with design and procurement teams to ensure materials and components are available for production.
Assist in preparing cost estimates for projects, learning to balance competitive pricing with company profitability.
Participate in analyzing production costs and identifying potential cost-saving opportunities.
Support the documentation and review of cost-related data for continuous improvement.
Participate in quality checks and inspections to ensure products meet company standards.
Learn and assist in implementing corrective actions to address quality issues.
Support the maintenance of quality documentation and records.
Observe and assist in evaluating production processes to identify inefficiencies and waste.
Support the implementation of lean manufacturing principles and other best practices.
Learn about equipment maintenance and collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure minimal downtime.
Assist in managing project timelines and resources, ensuring projects are completed on time.
Coordinate with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to gather requirements and ensure project specifications are met.
Provide regular updates to senior engineers on project progress and challenges.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
No prior experience required; internships or relevant coursework in production engineering are a plus.
Basic understanding of production processes and cost management principles.
Familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design software is an advantage.
Strong willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
