Description

·        Handles routine labor relations and human resource inquiries related to policies, procedures, and bargaining agreements; refers complex matters to appropriate management staff.

·        Serves as the initial contact and liaison for intake and assessment of employee complaints.

·        Participate in the development of HR objectives and systems, including metrics, queries, and ongoing reports for company requirements.

·        Assist in administering benefits, compensation, and employee performance programs.

·        Ensure compliance with local and national regulations and applicable employment laws, and update policies and procedures when necessary.

·        Conducts surveys, interviews, and other research related to human resource policies, compensation, and other labor negotiations; collects information and reports results to the Human Resources Manager.

·        Maintains knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations related to EEO, affirmative action, collective bargaining, labor relations, and human resources.

·        Assists with the preparation of documents and records required for contract negotiations, meetings, and negotiations with employee and labor organizations.

·        Be the primary backup for payroll processing, including biweekly and semimonthly updates to employee files, bonus/incentive pay, vacation/sick pay, expense reimbursements, hourly-employee validations, and benefits changes.

·        Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational chart, and contribute to policy development.

  • Performs tasks that may be assigned from time to time.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or related field.
  • With more than 2 years as an HR Coordinator or any work-related experience.
  • Deep understanding of Labor Law and employment equity regulations.
  • Efficient HR administration and people management skills.
  • Excellent record-keeping skills.
  • Knowledgeable of HR functions and best practices.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of computers, especially Microsoft Office and Google Apps.
