Job Brief

Mayan Solutions, Inc. is looking for a detail-oriented and highly motivated Junior Tech Associate (QA) to support the quality assurance of our web applications. This role is ideal for fresh graduates or early-career professionals who are passionate about software quality, enjoy finding bugs, and are eager to grow into automation testing.

You will start by focusing heavily on manual testing, exploratory testing, and defect documentation, ensuring that features are thoroughly validated before release. Over time, you will transition into writing and maintaining automated test scripts using Playwright, contributing to our growing test automation practice.

This role is designed for individuals who are highly observant, structured in thinking, and excited to build a career in QA and test automation within a fast-paced tech consulting environment.

Core Responsibilities

• Execute manual testing for web applications to ensure functionality, usability, and quality standards are met.
• Design and execute test cases, test scenarios, and exploratory testing sessions.
• Identify, document, and track defects with clear, structured, and reproducible reports.
• Maintain test cases, test runs, and test documentation using a test management software.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and designers to clarify requirements and validate fixes.
• Ensure adequate test coverage for critical user journeys and business workflows.
• Support regression testing and release validation activities.
• Gradually contribute to automated testing using Playwright for stable and completed features.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Day-to-day Activities

• Perform manual execution of test cases for new and existing features.
• Conduct exploratory testing to identify edge cases and unexpected system behavior.
• Log, track, and update defects in a structured issue tracking system.
• Maintain and update structured test cases in a test management software.
• Validate fixes and perform regression testing across environments.
• Collaborate daily with developers and project teams during sprint cycles.
• Assist in reviewing completed features before release.
• Begin learning and contributing to Playwright-based automated tests under guidance.
• Continuously improve QA knowledge, tools, and testing techniques.

Requirements and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to think critically and systematically.
• Strong interest in software testing and quality assurance.
• Ability to write clear, structured, and detailed bug reports.
• Basic understanding of manual testing principles (internship or academic exposure preferred).
• Willingness to learn test automation (Playwright or similar tools).
• Good communication skills in business English (written and verbal).

Requirements and Skills

• Internship experience in QA, software testing, or related roles.
• Exposure to Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or similar frameworks.
• Familiarity with TestRail or similar test management tools.
• Basic knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum environments.
• Exposure to API testing tools such as Postman.
