Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Buyer to manage the end-to-end procurement process for vessel requirements, ensuring the timely, cost-effective, and compliant sourcing of goods and services. The role is responsible for processing purchase requisitions, coordinating with vessels and suppliers, resolving procurement-related issues, and supporting safe and efficient vessel operations. The Buyer will work closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to maintain high service standards while continuously improving procurement efficiency and productivity.


Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze vessel purchase requisitions to ensure completeness, accuracy, and alignment with operational requirements.
  • Process purchase requisitions through the procurement system and issue Purchase Orders (POs) with complete and accurate information upon approval.
  • Ensure suppliers provide timely order confirmations and monitor order progress through to delivery.
  • Coordinate with vessels, agents, suppliers, and local ship chandlers to ensure the safe and timely delivery of goods.
  • Proactively follow up on deliveries ahead of vessel arrival schedules and resolve any supply or logistics issues.
  • Communicate with category leads regarding pricing, product availability, and delivery schedules.
  • Support cost control initiatives by adhering to approved supplier agreements and procurement policies.
  • Provide feedback to vessel management regarding supplier performance and service quality.
  • Process supplier invoices accurately and ensure timely submission for payment.
  • Respond promptly to vessel inquiries and procurement-related concerns while maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance procurement processes, service quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
  • 1–3 years of procurement experience in the shipping, maritime, or ship management industry is required.
  • Experience using procurement or ERP systems (e.g., Oracle Supply Chain or similar platforms).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels.
  • Able to work efficiently under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.

Employment Details

  • Salary: ₱30,000–₱40,000
  • Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time
  • Work Arrangement: Fully onsite
  • Location: MOA Complex, Pasay City
  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday | 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Dayshift)
  • Work Equipment: Company-issued laptop/desktop and SIM card upon onboarding
