Inpatient Medical Coder

Description

• Review and analyze medical records for accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures.
• Assign correct ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes to patient records.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and contribute to quality assurance processes.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to clarify documentation discrepancies.
• Stay updated with coding changes and updates in healthcare regulations.

Requirements

• Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Medical Allied graduate
• Experience Level: 1–3 years of medical coding experience
• Skills and Competencies: Proficiency in inpatient coding, CCS/CPC/CIC certification, PHRN active license
• Qualities and Traits: Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and effective communication
• Responsibilities and Duties: Maintain coding accuracy and attend to coding audits
