Description

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing the procurement process to ensure that the organization acquires goods and services at the best possible value. This role involves sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures.


Supplier Management:

  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery capabilities.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.


Procurement Process:

  • Create and issue purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Monitor and track orders to ensure accurate and timely fulfillment.
  • Manage inventory levels and reorder points to avoid stockouts or excess inventory.


Contract Management:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate supplier contracts and agreements.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with organizational policies and legal requirements.
  • Monitor contract performance and address any issues or disputes.


Market Analysis:

  • Conduct market research to identify trends and new suppliers.
  • Analyze pricing, quality, and market conditions to make informed purchasing decisions.


Reporting and Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including supplier information, purchase orders, and contracts.
  • Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance.


Collaboration:

  • Work closely with internal departments to understand their procurement needs and requirements.
  • Coordinate with finance and accounts teams to ensure timely payment of invoices.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. (Certifications such as CIPS or CPP are a plus)

Experience: Minimum of [1] year of experience in procurement or supply chain management.

Skills:

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of procurement regulations and best practices.
