Job Description

The Cost Accountant is responsible for monitoring and analyzing production costs, maintaining accurate inventory records, and providing timely financial reports to support management decision-making. This role ensures the accuracy of product costing, inventory valuation, and cost control processes while identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate product cost calculations and standard costing.
• Analyze production cost variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Monitor inventory transactions, perform inventory reconciliations, and ensure accurate inventory valuation.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cost planning activities.
• Prepare monthly cost reports, inventory analyses, and management reports.
• Review manufacturing costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
• Collaborate with Production, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to improve costing accuracy and operational efficiency.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to cost accounting and inventory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Financial Management, Accounting Technology, or any Finance-related field.
• Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, or General Accounting.
• Strong experience in:
• Product costing
• Cost variance analysis
• Budgeting and forecasting
• Inventory reconciliation
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and cost control procedures.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including:
• Pivot Tables
• VLOOKUP
• XLOOKUP
• Power Query
• Financial Modeling
• Experience using ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, or similar ERP platforms.
• Ability to prepare and present cost reports, inventory analyses, and management reports.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently while meeting deadlines.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
