The Rebar Fabrication Shop Manager will oversee fabrication and quality control, ensuring production deadlines are met and maintaining high-quality standards. This role includes managing the daily operations, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring workplace safety and regulatory compliance.

• Oversee and manage all aspects of daily fabrication shop operations to meet production goals and maintain quality standards.
• Direct fabrication operations, ensuring production schedules are met and quality standards are upheld.
• Analyze equipment availability and capabilities to schedule and coordinate production orders efficiently.
• Implement and enforce safety policies, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment in line with OSHA regulations and fire codes.
• Supervise staff, including scheduling, training, and evaluating performance to foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
• Ensure proper storage, inventory accuracy, and effective use of materials and resources, monitoring rebar and other inventories.
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and sales teams to coordinate shop activities and resolve operational issues.
• Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive improvements, reduce costs, and optimize processes.
• Ensure accurate and timely execution of production schedules while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Monitor project progression, addressing issues that arise, and ensuring on-time delivery to customers.
• Manage equipment maintenance and request repairs as needed to maintain efficient shop operations.
• Implement sustainable practices to minimize environmental impact and reduce waste.
• Monitor inventory loss (scrap) and ensure accurate loading/unloading of trucks.

Work Environment:

• Regular exposure to moderate physical discomfort such as dust, fumes, or odors.
• Some physical tasks required, such as handling materials or equipment.
• Occasional travel may be required
• 6-day work week, 8am-5pm with 1 hour lunch break.
• Overtime Work may be required 5pm-8pm if necessary.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in heavy industries such as construction, engineering, or manufacturing, preferably with rebar or steel production facilities.
• Proven leadership experience managing teams of 10+ employees, with strong team management and communication skills.
• Familiarity with steel fabrication processes, blueprints, technical drawings, and rebar inventory management.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, process optimization, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, able to troubleshoot equipment and operational issues effectively.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements, including safety (OSHA) and environmental standards.
• Proficiency with relevant software such as MS Office and CAD systems; experience with rebar programs like aSa is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience managing a rebar or steel production facility is highly preferred.
• Advanced degree or certification may offset less experience in some disciplines.
• Knowledge of materials estimation, scheduling, and project management.
• Experience with inventory control and managing fabrication orders.
