Description
- Lead and manage the fabrication department, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Develop and implement fabrication processes and best practices to improve efficiency and quality.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to ensure designs are feasible and optimize production methods.
- Monitor production performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and promote a culture of safety within the team.
- Manage budgets and control costs related to fabrication operations.
- Train, mentor, and develop team members to enhance their skills and performance.
- Oversee equipment maintenance and ensure that machinery is operating effectively.
- Maintain inventory and ensure the availability of materials needed for production.
- Prepare and present reports on fabrication metrics and project statuses to upper management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 8+ years of experience in fabrication or manufacturing, with experience in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques, tools, and technologies.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Proficient in fabrication software and tools; familiarity with CAD software is a plus.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in manufacturing.
