Under the direct supervision of the AM-Research and Development, this position is primarily responsible for development of new and alternate packaging.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinates with Marketing, Production, and Purchasing teams on the sourcing and development of new and cost-optimized packaging materials.
Coordinates with the box supplier regarding box fitting analysis of new and cost-optimized products.
Request and approves the Customer Specification Sheets (CSS) of corrugated boxes.
Updates the SKU Information Sheet, CSS, Filling and Packing Form monitoring.
Prepares, maintains and updates the filling and promo packing forms of existing and new products.
Checks and approves the Hapee logo color and the design of merchandising materials.
Ensures that packaging materials adhere to the standard labeling requirements.
Determines the technical specifications of packaging materials.
Prepares the technical drawings of flexible packaging materials.
Reviews, approves, and routes the artworks, proofing/ bromides of all packaging materials.
Sends the link of final artworks to supplier for proofing development.
Checks, approves and routes the proofing of packaging materials and informs supplier, Purchasing and Planning departments on the development status of packaging materials.
Prepares the Packaging Material Specification (PMS) and Purchasing Requirement Specification (PRS) documents of new and revised packaging materials.
Fills up the Sales Turnover File (STOF) for new and promotional products and sends to Marketing department.
Conducts Press Site Approval (PSA) of packaging materials needed.
Checks and maintains the LSD folders of new and revised packaging materials.
Prepares Plant Trial Requests and performs plant trial runs for new and alternate packaging materials.
Conducts packaging integrity tests and prepares the packaging report on the results.
Improvement on existing packaging specifications based on production requirement.
Coordinates with suppliers on the development of new and improved/ cost-optimized packaging materials.
Profiles benchmark products available in the market.
Maintains complete and accurate documentation of all evaluations.
Reviews testing procedures to ensure that they are appropriate. Updates procedures as necessary.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepares concept or proposal papers for products recommended for development.
Formulates products based on agreed specifications and target costs. Ensure efficiencies on processing of formulated products and use of ingredients.
Performs product evaluations of samples placed under stability studies as well as benchmark samples.
Ensures timely, proper and accurate preparation, evaluation and reporting of samples related to product development.
Ensures that Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) is observed in the laboratory.
Alerts immediate superior of any obstacles to implementation of assigned responsibilities.
Understands and supports the department’s objectives which are aligned to the company’s goals.
Carries out related tasks as may be assigned.
Requirements
Graduate of BS Chemical Engineering / BS Chemistry / BS Packaging Engineering or other related field with relevant experience
Preferably with Professional License
At least 2 years work experience in the related field, preferably in a consumer product manufacturing company
Membership in an associations of related field, is an advantage
Experience of dealing with customers and suppliers
