Description

Major responsibilities of a Steward:

  • Loading and unloading washing machines
  • Washing specific items by hand (e.g., cutting boards, large pots, and crockery)
  • Store clean dishes, glasses, and equipment appropriately.
  • Set up workstations before meal prep begins.
  • • Ensure there are always enough clean dishes, glasses, and utensils, especially during peak hours.
  • Maintain cleaning supplies stock (e.g., detergents) and place orders when necessary.
  • Check washing machines' operation and promptly report any technical/performance issues.
  • Remove garbage regularly. Sanitize the kitchen area, including the floor.
  • Assisting colleagues, steward Supervisor and F&B team to work to their greatest ability.
  • Assist with food safety compliance. Assist with food production compliance.
  • Familiarize with Company Health and Safety Policies and ensure your areas promote and comply with them.


Key Accountabilities and Activities:

  • Ensuring that the responsibility and authority of all staff who manage, perform, and verify work affecting quality, safety and the environment is defined.
  • Identifying and providing adequate resources for managing, performing, and verifying work affecting the quality of the services and the safety of those employees performing these services.
  • Ensuring all appropriate actions are taken to implement the HSEQ policies, associated procedures, and legislative requirements.
  • Monitoring HSEQ performance within their area of responsibility.
  • Demonstrating commitment to HSEQ through participation in formal and informal discussions, workplace visits and hazard inspections.
  • Participating where required in the resolution of safety issues.
  • Reviewing all incidents and preparing reports if appropriate.
  • Participating in the HSEQ steering team meetings where required.
  • Ensuring consultation with employees on matters pertaining to HSEQ, particularly on any workplace changes which have an impact on these components.
  • Initiating actions to improve HSEQ performance.
  • To attend meetings and training courses as required.
  • Included in these duties, you are required to perform any other reasonable tasks requested by the line manager.


Knowledge, skills and experience:

  • At least previous experience in a hotel or branded units
  • Able to work with a multinational team.
