Job Summary:

The Procurement and Inventory Specialist is responsible for overseeing the procurement of goods as well as the management of inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability and cost efficiency. This role ensures smooth supply chain operations, maintains accurate inventory records, and builds strong relationships with suppliers to support organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Purchasing:

• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company objectives.
• Identify reliable suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships.
• Evaluate and monitor purchase requisitions for accuracy, pricing, and delivery terms.
• Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, equipment, and supplies.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve quality or delivery issues.

Inventory Management:

• Oversee inventory planning, stock control, and warehouse organization.
• Conduct regular audits to verify inventory accuracy and identify discrepancies.
• Implement inventory control procedures to minimize stock loss and obsolescence.
• Maintain appropriate stock levels and reorder points using forecasting methods.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure inventory supports production and sales needs.

Reporting & Compliance:

• Maintain accurate records of purchases, inventory levels, and vendor information.
• Generate reports on purchasing trends, cost savings, and inventory turnover.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, budget constraints, and applicable regulations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Proven experience (typically 2–3 years) in purchasing, inventory, or supply chain management.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in inventory and procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
• Knowledge of inventory optimization and cost-control strategies.
