- Install wiring, outlets, light fixtures, control systems, and other electrical components in buildings and other structures.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of electrical equipment and systems to ensure proper function and prevent breakdowns.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems, including motors, circuit breakers, generators, and wiring.
- Perform safety and conductivity tests using tools like ammeters, voltmeters, and thermal scanners to identify issues.
- Interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and schematics to understand project requirements and plan installations.
- Ensure all work adheres to electrical codes, safety standards, and regulations.
- Work with architects, contractors, and other team members on construction and maintenance projects.
- Maintain records of work completed, materials used, and equipment serviced.

- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical theory, systems, and safety procedures.
- Tool Proficiency: Skill in using a variety of hand and power tools, as well as specialized testing equipment.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to identify electrical problems and develop effective solutions.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to wiring, component installation, and safety checks.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to work in various conditions, including lifting heavy objects, working in confined spaces, and at heights.
- Communication Skills: Ability to explain technical information to clients and collaborate with other professionals.
- Licenses: Many positions require valid electrician licenses, such as a Journeyman Electrician license.
