Job Position: Cost Accountant
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Prepare and maintain accurate cost accounting records covering food production, labor, logistics, procurement, inventory, and operational expenses.
- Analyze direct and indirect costs, monitor food and labor costs, inventory consumption, wastage, and operational variances across catering and camp operations.
- Prepare cost analyses, cost reports, and profitability assessments for products, contracts, and projects to support pricing, bidding, and business decisions.
- Perform inventory valuation, reconciliation, cost allocation, and periodic cost reviews to ensure accurate financial reporting and inventory controls.
- Monitor budget utilization and perform variance analysis between actual and budgeted costs.
- Assist in preparing annual budgets, forecasts, and operational cost estimates.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and profitability.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Warehouse, Operations, and Finance teams to ensure accurate cost allocation, inventory management, and financial controls.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and cost allocations.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing cost schedules, reconciliations, and required financial documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal control procedures.
- Prepare management reports and presentations on cost performance, budget utilization, variances, and profitability.
- Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned by Management.
Working Condition/Environment
- Willing to be relocated and work on extended hours when needed
JOB SPECIFICATION
- Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Minimum of three (3) years relevant experience in cost accounting, management accounting, or financial analysis
- Experience in the catering, hospitality, food service, manufacturing, mining support services, logistics, or construction industry including inventory management, contract costing, and project-based accounting is an advantage
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, inventory valuation, budgeting, understanding of standard costing, cost allocation, variance & profitability analysis
- Proficient in accounting software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel, including advanced spreadsheet functions
- Familiar with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across operational departments
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet reporting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
