Job Description

Job Title: Safety Officer

 

Qualifications:

  • Has a background in project engineering or construction management.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Licensed Engineer is preferred.
  • Certified Safety Officer (SO2/SO3 or equivalent) is an advantage.
  • At least 2–3 years of experience in construction, industrial, mechanical, or engineering projects.
  • Able to read and interpret CAD drawings, especially piping layouts and isometric drawings.
  • Knowledge of LPG systems, LPG installations, piping works, gas leak detection systems and related safety requirements is an advantage.
  • Able to perform accurate site measurements and field verification of actual site conditions.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled in documentation and filing systems.
  • Has strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective coordination with clients, contractors, suppliers, company sales personnel, and other stakeholders.
  • Honest, trustworthy, reliable, and demonstrates high integrity and accountability.
  • Must be able to drive motorcycle and four-wheel vehicles with a valid driver’s license.
  • Willing to be assigned to various project sites depending on project deployment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, AutoCAD, and SketchUp for engineering drawings, layouts, and project visualization.

 

Project Engineering Functions:

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise in-house and subcontracted project activities from mobilization to completion.
  • Conduct site inspections, surveys, and actual field measurements to assess site conditions, validate dimensions, and develop piping layouts, isometric drawings, and other engineering plans.
  • Prepare and develop engineering drawings, including CAD piping layouts, isometric drawings, and other technical plans based on project requirements and standards.
  • Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ), and cost estimates
  • Develop project methodologies, work procedures, implementation plans, and construction schedules.
  • Prepare and update project schedules, Gantt charts, manpower loading, and resource allocation plans.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, company sales personnel, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Monitor, verify, and inspect delivered materials, equipment, and project supplies to ensure compliance with approved specifications, quantities, quality standards, and project requirements.
  • Monitor project progress, cost, schedule, manpower, and resource utilization.
  • Ensure that all project activities are executed within the approved budget while maintaining cost efficiency.
  • Report project progress, site inspection findings, safety observations, material status, project risks, and recommended corrective actions to the Engineering Manager
  • Monitor subcontractor performance, workmanship, safety compliance, and project deliverables.
  • Ensure quality control and compliance with project specifications, company standards, and applicable codes.
  • Implement Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) standards and ensure compliance at all times.
  • Conduct toolbox meetings, safety orientations, site inspections, and safety audits.
  • Prepare Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), Risk Assessments (RA), Method Statements, and Site Safety Plans.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-miss events and prepare required reports.
  • Recommend and implement corrective and preventive actions related to project execution and safety performance.
  • Prepare progress reports, accomplishment reports, project updates, and turnover documents.
  • Maintain complete and organized project documentation, including BOQ, schedules, reports, drawings, safety documents, permits, and turnover files.
  • Ensure proper document control, filing, and record traceability in both hard copy and electronic formats.
  • Process permits, clearances, and compliance documentation required by clients, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as may be required by management and project requirements.
