Description

This is an office-based position in Ermita, Manila, seeking a construction bookkeeper / junior accountant with at least 3-4 years of experience in payroll processing and general accounting. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling various accounting tasks, including payroll, GST calculations, BAS applications, and administrative support. A strong understanding of the Australian construction industry and proficiency in Xero accounting software are preferred.


  • Accounting:
  • Process employee payroll.
  • Process invoices, purchase orders, and receipts for construction projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate financial reporting for each project.
  • Bookkeeping duties 
  • Calculate GST and prepare quarterly reports.
  • Submit BAS applications.
  • Perform other accounting procedures as needed by the company.


  • Administrative Support:
  • Provide administrative support to the business owner.
  • Assist with virtual assistant duties.
  • Respond to client/Partners emails and calls.
  • Orgnaise the office Google Diary


  • Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with colleagues at the head office and other personnel.
  • Work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work independently and multitask.   

Requirements

  • Bachelor's/College Degree in Accounting or related field with 3+ years of experience or Accounting Diploma with 4+ years of experience.
  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience in payroll processing.
  • Strong understanding of Australian construction industry practices.
  • Proficiency in Xero accounting software or willingness to learn.
  • Computer literacy, including MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Deadline-oriented and results-driven.
  • Willingness to work onsite in Ermita, Manila.
  • Previous experience with an Australian client.
  • Familiarity with Australian accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in other accounting software.
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving, and adaptability.
  • Excellent telephone etiquette.
  • Focus on efficiency, user experience, and process improvement.
  • Excellent project and time management skills.
  • Strong problem solving and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or with a group.
  • Willingness to sit at desk for extended periods.
  • Willing to work onsite located in Ermita Manila
  • Working hours: Monday to Friday (7am-5pm), 45 hours/week

  • This is not WFH or remote job set up
