About the role

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Officer with strong knowledge of UK accounting and taxation to join our growing finance team. This role is suited to someone who has hands-on experience supporting UK limited companies and clients, including accounts preparation, tax returns, VAT, payroll, CIS, bookkeeping, reconciliations, and statutory filings. The successful candidate should be comfortable managing multiple clients, working independently, communicating with UK-based stakeholders, and ensuring financial and tax obligations are completed accurately and within UK deadlines.

Key responsibilities:

• Prepare and support UK limited company accounts
• Prepare and submit Corporation Tax returns
• Assist with Self Assessment tax returns
• Prepare and submit VAT returns
• Manage bookkeeping and account reconciliations
• Ensure financial records are accurate, complete, and up to date
• Process and manage UK payroll
• Assist with CIS calculations, submissions, and administration
• Prepare and manage Companies House filings
• Handle correspondence with HMRC and assist with HMRC agent processes

What we are looking for:

• Previous UK accounting experience is essential
• Experience working with UK limited companies
• Practical experience with UK Corporation Tax, VAT, payroll, and CIS
• Experience preparing accounts and completing bookkeeping and reconciliations
• Experience with Companies House filings and HMRC processes
• Strong knowledge of UK accounting and taxation requirements
• Experience using Xero and QuickBooks
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple clients and competing deadlines
