Safety Officer

Job description:

• Risk Management: Identify hazards, assess risks, and implement strategies (like PPE use) to reduce them.
• Policy & Procedure: Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and emergency action plans.
• Training & Education: Conduct safety training for employees on safe work practices, equipment use, and emergency procedures.
• Inspections & Audits: Perform regular site inspections, audits, and monitor work methods to ensure compliance.
• Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents/incidents to find root causes and prevent recurrence.
• Reporting & Documentation: Prepare reports, maintain safety records (inspections, training, incidents).
• Compliance: Stay updated on health and safety legislation and ensure the organization meets all legal requirements.
• Liaison: Communicate with management and sometimes regulatory bodies on safety matters. 

Qualifications:

• College graduate in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar courses
• Possesses a Certificate in COSH (Construction Occupational Safety and Health), LCM (Loss Control Management), and HIRAC (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Control)
• Knowledgeable of PEZA requirements is an advantage
• Minimum of 2 yrs. experience
