Senior Quantity Surveyor

Core Responsibilities

• Cost Estimating & Budgeting: Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQ), and project budgets during the pre-tender and bidding stages.
• Tender & Procurement Management: Evaluate tender submissions, analyze subcontractor and supplier bids, and assist in drafting, negotiating, and awarding construction contracts.
• Cost Control & Financial Reporting: Monitor project expenditures, forecast cash flows, manage variations (change orders), and prepare monthly cost-value reconciliations (CVR) and financial reports.
• Contract Administration: Administer contractual claims, extension of time (EOT) requests, and dispute resolutions in accordance with standard industry contracts.
• Valuation & Payments: Assess subcontractor interim valuations, review progress billing, and certify payments against completed work.
• Final Account Settlement: Prepare, negotiate, and finalize final accounts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior quantity surveyors and commercial staff within the department.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related commercial discipline.
• Experience: 3+ years of progressive quantity surveying experience within the construction industry, with a strong background in handling complex commercial/residential projects or heavy infrastructure.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in quantity surveying software, cost-estimating databases, CAD measuring tools, and advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Core Competencies: In-depth knowledge of contract law, negotiation tactics, risk management, and strong analytical skills.
