Estimator

I. POSITION SUMMARY

Estimator primarily involved in the preparation of the Bill of Materials (BOM) / Material take-off. Collects and evaluates the Company’s data in order to estimate the costs, resources and labor needed to produce a service or product.

ll. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Generate a structures Bill of Materials, ensuring every item is categorized by number, description, and unit of measure.
• Perform a through review of plans or drawings and specifications to understand the full scope of work.
• Maintain and update a “Cost Library” by analyzing historical company data and current market prices.
• Update and monitor prices of raw materials.
• Suggest alternative materials or brands that meet the project requirements at a lower cost without sacrificing quality.
• Identify necessary machinery, tools and consumable required for production or installation.
• Send out Request for Quotation (RFQs) to external vendors thru Purchasing and compare proposals on an apples-to-apples basis.

lll. JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum one (1) year experience in the same capacity.
• Experienced at compiling and following strict budget, strong estimating and financial analysis skills.
• In-depth understanding of plans, materials, pricing and industry.
• Amenable to work in Malinta, Valenzuela City

• Excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to organize, plan and strategize.
• Proficient in computer skills, Microsoft Office and AutoCAD
• Ability to analyze financial records and apply data to improve results.
• Strong aptitude for numbers, spreadsheets and financial reports.
