Planning Engineer

We are looking for a Planning Engineer Head to lead project planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring for our construction, retrofitting, and civil works projects. The role will oversee project schedules, work programs, manpower and resource planning, progress tracking, and schedule updates while identifying delays and recommending corrective actions. The Planning Engineer Head will coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, QS, Procurement, and site teams to ensure projects remain aligned with approved schedules and targets.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain project schedules, work programs, and baseline schedules

Monitor actual project progress against the approved project schedule

Coordinate with Project Managers, Project Engineers, site teams, and subcontractors to gather progress updates

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports

Monitor manpower, materials, equipment, and other resources required to meet project schedules

Identify delays, schedule risks, and critical activities and recommend appropriate corrective actions

Prepare and update look-ahead schedules and recovery plans when necessary

Analyze project performance and provide management with schedule and progress updates

Assist in monitoring project milestones, deliverables, and completion targets

Coordinate with QS and Project Teams regarding work accomplishment and progress billing data

Review project schedules and ensure activities are properly sequenced and aligned with project requirements

Maintain organized records of project schedules, progress reports, and planning documents

Assist the Project Manager in planning, forecasting, and overall project monitoring

Ensure planning and reporting activities are aligned with approved project plans, specifications, and company procedures

Job Requirements

Graduate of Civil Engineering or any related engineering course

Licensed Civil Engineer is an advantage

At least 5–10 years of experience in project planning, scheduling, or construction engineering

Experience in construction, retrofitting, structural, or civil works projects is preferred

Knowledgeable in project scheduling, manpower planning, resource allocation, and progress monitoring

Proficient in MS Project, Primavera P6, or similar planning software

Proficient in MS Excel for monitoring, analysis, and reporting

Familiar with construction methods, project sequencing, and work programs

Able to analyze project delays and recommend recovery plans

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Good communication and coordination skills with project teams and management

Willing to visit or be assigned to project sites as needed
