A Captain Waiter (or Restaurant Captain) is a senior front-of-house leader who manages dining room operations, supervises junior servers, and bridges communication between guests, the kitchen, and management. He is responsible to promote and ensure guest satisfaction, maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment, and ensuring only the highest quality products are being served. Establishes rapport with guests to build guest loyalty and gather constructive feedback to ensure the satisfaction of every individual guest. Also to handle daily team member relations, and encourage problem-solving by team members through proper training and empowerment.

Key Responsibilities

Team Supervision

○      Assign service stations to waiters and

bussers.

○      Conduct pre-shift briefings and mentor new

staff.

○      Check staff grooming, uniform, and

punctuality.

Guest Relations

○      Greet, welcome, and seat guests.

○      Recommend menu items, daily specials, and wine

pairings.

○      Handle special requests, dietary needs, VIPs,

and complaints.

●      Service Coordination

○      Monitor the dining floor for smooth, timely

food and beverage delivery.

○      Act as a direct link between the kitchen and

serving staff.

○      Oversee table settings, cleanliness, and stock

levels.

●      Administrative Tasks

○      Process bills and manage payments using POS

systems.

○      Assist with inventory checks for operating

equipment and supplies

○      Perform other duties assigned by the

administrative department and/or directly by the management.
