Provide a safe working environment at all times. Ensure all employees comply with safety standards and that personal protective equipment (PPE) is used were required.
Develop programs and organize training to promote workplace health and safety (WHS) awareness among employees.
Monitor the progress and evaluate the effectiveness of safety and health programs.
Perform risk management, assessing potential WHS risks and recommend control measures to eliminate and/or mitigate workplace accidents.
Review and formulate safety rules to enhance safety and health in the workplace.
Organize and attend monthly WHS committee meeting.
Organize and perform monthly safety inspection to identify potential safety and health hazards; and violation of safety regulations;
Work closely with the WHS committee members to review critical safety inspection finding and/or other safety and health issues raised by the management, employees, internal and external auditors and authorities; and work out relevant action plans to close safety gaps identified.
Conduct investigations for incidents and accidents, interviewing the staff concerned to evaluate the causes and to provide recommendations to prevent recurrence of similar incidents and accidents;
Provide monthly update on the following to management representatives:
Facility Management
Management of building services such as air conditioning and mechanical ventilation (ACMV), DI water plant, water recycling systems, electrical, firefighting protection and security systems, generator set, lifts, cleaning services, pest control.
Carry out regular site inspection and ensure that any irregularity is rectified in a timely manner.
Conduct technical audit, perform data logging and trend analysis of ACMV equipment performances and identify measures for reliable operations.
Ensure that all facilities that support production have 100% uptime and production is never disrupted.
Supervise contractors and/or technicians in provision of preventive/corrective maintenance services and ad hoc repairs. Ensure that all works are duly carried out to be highest standard, down time is minimized, and all works are in compliance with company’s health and safety policy, relevant legislation, standards
and requirements governing the maintenance and management of buildings in China.
Supervise testing and maintenance of electrical installations and proper calibration of other equipment used in the facility to ensure reliability and optimal operating condition.
Streamline facility management operations, review facility management services contracts and operating procedures.
Prepare and submit monthly progress and expenditure report in defects rectification works and addition and alteration projects. Ensure monthly expenditure is within planned budget.
Provide support in all internal and external audits and partnering with the Quality Manager to follow upwith action plans to ensure proper closure on audit findings related to facilities management.
Attend to emergencies promptly, rectify them with minimal inconvenience and disruption to factory
operations.
Environment
Ensure compliance with all government environmental regulations at all times.
Drive actions that reduce the companies’ environmental impact by reducing usage of resources (water, electricity etc.).
Ensure that effective controls are in place to manage chemical usage, storage and disposal. Security
Develop security policy and procedures for the facility.
Lead investigation on report of loss, theft and accident suffered by staff and/or visitor.
