Truck Driver
Safe Vehicle Operation: Operate a commercial truck to transport goods to designated destinations in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
Route Planning & Navigation: Plan and follow the most efficient routes, adjusting for road conditions, traffic, weather, and delivery requirements. Use GPS and maps to ensure timely deliveries.
Loading & Unloading: Assist with loading and unloading cargo from the truck, ensuring that goods are securely loaded and unloaded to prevent damage.
Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, checking for mechanical issues, tire pressure, fluid levels, and other essential vehicle components to ensure roadworthiness.
Delivery & Customer Service: Ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods to clients, following delivery instructions carefully. Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers or recipients of the delivery.
Cargo Handling & Security: Secure and handle cargo responsibly, ensuring that items are properly stored to prevent damage during transit. Follow all safety protocols for hazardous materials, when applicable.
Documentation & Reporting: Complete all required documentation, including delivery logs, vehicle inspection reports, mileage, fuel usage, and any other paperwork required by company policies or regulations.
Adherence to Schedules: Maintain delivery schedules and meet deadlines, ensuring that all deliveries are completed within the agreed time frame.
Compliance with Regulations: Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to transportation, including Hours of Service (HOS) regulations, weight limits, and safety guidelines.
Fueling & Maintenance: Ensure that the vehicle is fueled appropriately and maintained in good working condition. Report any maintenance needs or breakdowns promptly to the Fleet Manager.
Safety & Cleanliness: Maintain the cleanliness of the truck both inside and out. Follow all safety procedures for the safe operation of the vehicle and the handling of cargo.
