Website Design and Development:

• Design and develop responsive WordPress websites that meet business objectives.
• Evaluate and customize WordPress themes and plugins to enhance functionality and aesthetics.
• Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes using solid UX design principles for features and updates.
• Convert mock-ups/prototypes into responsive HTML and CSS for various applications (webpages, landing pages, HTML emails).

Website Management:

• Maintain and update existing WordPress websites to ensure they remain current and functional.
• Implement and interpret web analytics tools/reporting for performance tracking and optimization.
• Monitor website performance, security, and backups.
• Ensure websites are optimized for speed, SEO, and mobile responsiveness.
• Troubleshoot and correct rendering or performance issues, including broken links, bugs, and errors.
• Backup, create, transfer, and restore WordPress websites and databases.
• Occasionally manage website via FTP and phpMyAdmin.
• Set up websites according to outlined page hierarchy.
• Working directly with vendors or hosting service providers to troubleshoot issues.

Content Management:

• Create, manage, and update website content, including text, images, videos, and other media
• Collaborate with copywriting and marketing personnel for post/page/file creation and management.
• Implement SEO best practices to improve search engine rankings and visibility.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with marketing, development, and content teams to align website initiatives with overall business goals.
• Provide technical support and training to team members as needed.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide project updates.

Project Management:

• Plan and manage website projects from concept to completion, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Coordinate with other team members as needed for specialized tasks.
• Maintain project documentation and reports.
• Execute website changes requested by marketing and design personnel.

Managerial Duties:

• Perform managerial duties over direct reports (timesheet/PTO approvals, performance evaluations, scheduling, updating personnel documentation, etc.).

• Ability to use Wordpress Admin Dashboards, FTP clients, phpMyAdmin, and AWS to manage website content and files.
• Deep understanding of WordPress core, themes, and plugins, as well as expertise in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/AJAX.
• Deep understanding of responsive website/layout design and strong background in web development.
• Familiarity with SQL for query and bulk operations.
• Ability to create custom functionalities, optimize performance, and ensure security in WordPress.
• Ability to stay up-to-date with the latest WordPress updates and coding standards.
• Ability to manage and prioritize own workload and tasks assigned to other team members to meet business objectives.
• Good understanding of the latest trends and technologies.
• Strong ability to think critically and creatively about web communications.
• Knowledgeable on MS Office Tools (such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
• Knowledgeable on Adobe XD and Figma.
• Comprehension of Design Specifications: Accurately understand and interpret the design specifications provided in the Figma / XD mock-ups, including layout, typography, color schemes, and interactive elements.
• Proficiency in Figma is a must, particularly in using its Developer Mode tools for handling off mockups and prototypes to development teams. Experience is converting Figma designs into responsive web layouts and ensuring pixel-perfect implementation is crucial.
• Use HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to recreate the Figma / XD designs in a web environment.
• Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and decision-making skills.
• Effective communicator at all levels both written and verbal.
• Basic knowledge on Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator are a plus.
• Comfortable making decisions and leading projects autonomously, while knowing when to collaborate or seek input for maximum efficiency.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team of web developers ensuring best practices are followed and team members are continually growing in their roles.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, web design, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in WordPress web design and management.
• Proven portfolio of WordPress websites demonstrating design and functionality.
• Experience with website analytics tools and performance monitoring.
• Experience effectively mentoring and/or managing a team.
• Certifications in web design, SEO, or related areas are a plus.
