Summary: The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods and services in alignment with the company’s strategic objectives. This role involves negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring that procurement processes are efficient and cost-effective.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Manage the procurement process, including vendor identification, bid evaluation, and contract negotiation
• Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and compare pricing
• Stay abreast of industry developments and best practices in procurement
• Analyze purchase data to identify trends and areas for optimization
• Issue purchase orders and track deliveries to ensure timely delivery and quality control
• Monitor supplier performance and identify opportunities for cost reduction and quality improvement
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and monitor supplier performance and address any issues that arise.
• Negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing
• Maintain a comprehensive database of suppliers and their offerings
• Collaborate with the team to ensure alignment with operational needs
• Work closely with other departments such as finance, operations, and logistics to align purchasing activities with overall business goals.
