Description
- Coffee Preparation: Prepare a wide range of coffee and espresso-based beverages, including lattes, cappuccinos, macchiatos, americanos, and other specialty drinks.
- Customer Service: Greet customers with a warm, friendly attitude, take orders, and provide recommendations based on customer preferences. Ensure that guests have a positive and welcoming experience.
- Latte Art: Craft beautiful latte art and ensure that every coffee drink is visually appealing, as well as delicious.
- Product Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the café’s menu, including coffee blends, pastries, and any seasonal or specialty items. Be able to explain drink options to customers and provide guidance on drink selections.
- Cash Handling: Accurately process customer transactions using the POS system, handle cash, and provide correct change.
- Inventory & Stocking: Monitor stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other ingredients. Help restock items as needed and ensure that all products are fresh.
- Machine Maintenance: Operate and maintain coffee equipment, such as espresso machines, grinders, and milk frothers. Ensure equipment is clean, calibrated, and in good working order.
- Health & Safety: Adhere to health and safety guidelines, including proper food handling, cleanliness, and sanitation standards. Ensure that the café environment is clean and tidy at all times.
- Cleanliness & Organization: Keep the bar area and café workspace clean, organized, and presentable. Regularly wipe down surfaces, clean tools and equipment, and ensure a tidy customer-facing area.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other baristas, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operations, particularly during peak hours. Assist with opening and closing duties.
Requirement
- Previous experience as a barista or in a similar customer service role is preferred but not required.
- Passion for coffee and an interest in learning more about coffee brewing techniques and flavors.
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to engage with customers in a friendly, positive manner.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of coffee brewing equipment and techniques, including espresso machines, grinders, and milk frothing.
- Ability to work well as part of a team and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Flexibility to work mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Strong attention to detail, especially in drink presentation and quality control.
