WHR Global Consulting
Sr. IT Business Analyst - Process Engineer
WHR Global ConsultingJob Description
Job Summary
We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Sr. IT Business Analyst - Process Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in re-engineering operational workflows, managing cross-functional projects, and ensuring that insurance product enhancements, system upgrades, and process improvements are seamlessly designed, tested, and deployed into our core systems.
The ideal candidate bridges the gap between business operations, IT, and strategy—combining a deep understanding of insurance operations with strong project delivery and process optimization expertise (e.g., Lean Six Sigma, workflow mapping, and change management).
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Process Engineering & Optimization
- Workflow Mapping & Analysis: Map, evaluate, and optimize end-to-end operational workflows (As-Is vs. To-Be) across insurance functions (underwriting, policy administration, billing, and claims).
- Process Redesign & Automation: Identify operational bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and manual handoffs; design streamlined, automated solutions to improve efficiency and customer experience.
- Requirements & Gap Analysis: Conduct deep-dive gap analyses between business strategies, operational needs, and system capabilities. Document user stories, detailed business requirements (BRDs), functional specifications (FRDs), and process maps.
2. System & Operational Project Management
- End-to-End Delivery: Drive and support system implementation, migration, and operational improvement projects from initiation through post-deployment hypercare.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Serve as the primary project liaison connecting business units, IT development teams, QA, and external software vendors.
- Scope & Timeline Tracking: Assist in establishing project charters, schedules, deliverables, and risk mitigation strategies for system and operational rollouts.
- Testing & Quality Assurance: Oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT), define validation scripts, coordinate defect management, and ensure solutions meet strict business quality standards.
3. Change Management & Stakeholder Alignment
- Change Readiness: Facilitate organizational change by creating SOPs, conducting walkthroughs, leading user training, and designing change management frameworks.
- Vendor & Executive Management: Manage expectations across various business units, present project status updates to leadership, and coordinate vendor integration.
- Post-Deployment Support: Monitor post-implementation operational metrics to evaluate process adoption, ensure issue resolution, and drive continuous improvement.
4. Governance & Compliance
- Maintain strict document version control for process models, requirement specifications, and system change logs.
- Ensure all redesigned processes and system configurations adhere to insurance regulatory guidelines, internal audits, and data compliance standards.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 3–5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Business Process Engineer, or Systems Analyst within the insurance or financial services sector.
- Domain Expertise: Solid understanding of core insurance product structures (life, non-life, or health) and operational lifecycles (policy issuance, claims, underwriting, billing).
- Core Systems: Direct experience in core system implementations, platform migrations, or integrations (e.g., Guidewire, LifeAsia, TCS BaNCS, Oracle Insurance, or similar platforms).
- Process Engineering: Hands-on experience with process mapping notation (BPMN 2.0), workflow modeling, and optimization methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications & Certifications
- Professional certifications in Business Analysis (CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA), Process Excellence (Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt), or Agile (Scrum Master, Product Owner).
- Project Management certification (PMP, CAPM).
- Experience handling cross-functional, regional, or multi-vendor project teams.
