The Trailer Truck Driver is responsible for driving heavy trucks with capacities of 4,500 kg or more, including tractor-trailer combinations. Also, responsible for day-to-day transactions to transport and deliver items to specified project sites.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Check vehicles before driving them to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
- Ensure that all equipment used in the drilling operation is in good working condition.
- Follow appropriate safety procedures when transporting dangerous goods.
- Maintain logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.
- Obtain receipts or signatures upon delivery of loads and collect payment for services when required.
- Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from the loading crew as needed; check that vehicle position is correct and that any special loading equipment is properly positioned.
- Secure cargo for transport using ropes, blocks, chains, binders, and/or covers.
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
- Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes.
- Check the condition of trailers after contents have been unloaded to ensure that there has been no damage.
- Preparation of the trip report and liquidation of travel cash advances promptly after each trip.
- Strengthening and promoting a “DUTY OF CARE” mindset.
- Complies with all quality, safety, health, and environmental requirements and observes all company policies and procedures;
- Ensure all purchasing-related activities are done in accordance with the Company Rules and Regulations, specifically Rule III – Fraud and Wilful Breach of Trust.
- Performs other tasks that may be assigned by the superior from time to time.
Qualifications:
- With a College Education or Equivalent
- With at least 10 years of experience driving a tractor, trailer combination, and low-bed experience
- Must have experience driving USA trucks, e.g., International Harvester, Freightliners
- Willingness and ability to work on either day or night shifts, as operational needs require.
- Have a Professional Driver’s License with restriction codes: C, CE, & D (or 1, 2, 3, and 8 in the old restriction code)
- Knows how to troubleshoot vehicle problems.
- Must know and understand traffic rules and road signages
- Preferably around San Pedro, Laguna.
- Can start immediately.
