Production Planner
I. GENERAL FUNCTION:
This position is responsible for ensuring efficient, accurate and continuous production of high quality products to meet customer demands. The key challenge of this position is to maintain both accuracy and flexibility in planning to be able to achieve overall goals and objectives.
II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Departmental Coordination
1. Coordinates and communicates with different departments on plans and concerns that will affect production:
a. R&D/QA – on product development and changes in formulation and procedures; on materials and product quality.
b. Logistics – on inventories of materials and finished goods.
c. Accounting – on costing updates and inventory concerns
d. Engineering – on machine capacity improvement.
e. Order Management Group – On critical or special orders coordination
B. Production Planning
1. Prepares and updates production schedules based on demand requirements and production capacity, which include time per shift of workers, adjusted dates of production, and planning value on the quantity needed based on capacity of manpower and machine.
2. Coordinates with the Production Supervisor for the updated machine and manpower quota.
3. Prepares manufacturing order reports for the production officer based on the demand requirement. Ensuring that its bill of materials are regularly updated.
4. Ensures proper timing of production by regularly checking status and outputs of the previous day and implementing scheduled runs for the day.
5. Coordinates with the bundling officer for promo items.
C. Monitoring
1. Regularly monitors finished goods inventory to ensure availability of products at all times.
2. Ensures accuracy of forecasts by comparing the percentage of withdrawal versus the forecast.
3. Regularly monitors and keeps track of raw and packaging materials inventory and delivery performance.
4. Prepares the following reports:
a. Planning reports
b. FG Inventory monitoring report
