Job Brief

Mayan Solutions Inc. is seeking a skilled and motivated WordPress Developer to join our growing team on a project-based contract. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, customizing, and maintaining WordPress sites for our clients and internal projects. As a WordPress Developer, you will collaborate closely with our design and development teams to create high-quality, scalable, and user-friendly web solutions. Core Responsibilities

• Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress websites, ensuring they are functional, user-friendly, and responsive.
• Collaborate with designers and other developers to implement designs and functionality as per project requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to WordPress sites and web servers.
• Optimize websites for performance, security, and SEO.
• Integrate third-party services and APIs as needed.
• Conduct testing and debugging to ensure quality and performance standards are met.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, tools, and best practices in WordPress development.
• Day-to-day Activities
• Develop and implement custom WordPress themes and plugins based on client and project needs.
• Maintain and update existing WordPress sites.
• Collaborate with the design team to ensure seamless integration of designs into WordPress projects.
• Work with the project management team to define project requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
• Troubleshoot and fix bugs, performance issues, and security vulnerabilities.
• Perform regular backups and updates to ensure the stability and security of websites.
• Document development processes and maintain organized code repositories.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to team discussions to improve development practices.

• Proven work experience as a WordPress Developer, with a strong portfolio of WordPress development projects.
• Proficiency in WordPress development, including theme and plugin customization.
• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience with popular WordPress page builders and frameworks (e.g., Elementor, WPBakery).
• Familiarity with web development tools and version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Understanding of web performance optimization, SEO, and security best practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot and debug issues effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
