Description

  • Driving: Safely operating a tractor-trailer truck, sometimes over long distances and across multiple states
  • Loading and unloading: Loading and unloading cargo, and securing it
  • Route planning: Planning routes using maps or satellite tracking
  • Vehicle maintenance: Performing basic vehicle maintenance, and reporting serious mechanical problems
  • Paperwork: Completing and verifying paperwork, and keeping a log of activities
  • Safety: Following all traffic laws, and taking special precautions while driving
  • Communication: Reporting incidents to a dispatcher, and following accident procedures

Requirement

  • Educational Qualifications: No specific degree required; equivalent experience is acceptable.
  • Experience Level: Less than 1 year of driving experience preferred.
  • Skills and Competencies: Proficient in vehicle maintenance, safe driving, and trailer handling.
  • Responsibilities and Duties: Transportation of goods, routine vehicle checks, and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Working Conditions: Varied environments, including highways and urban areas, long hours possible.
  • Qualities and Traits: Reliable, punctual, and possesses strong communication skills.
