The Lineman undertakes tasks such as Fiber Optic installation, configuration, testing, operation and maintenance of wired and wireless infrastructure for the provision of WiFi internet access.
Qualifications:
- Must have a valid Driver’s License & knows how to drive a Manual vehicle
- Experienced with Fiber Optic Maintenance & Splicing
Functions and Specific Responsibilities:
- Performs maintenance check of fiber optic cables
- Performs tasks such as climbing ladders & utility poles, fusion splicing of optical fibers, new splicing and repair splicing
- Responsible in handling delicate fibers
- Responsible in conducting periodic check of the fiber optic infrastructure
- Responsible in troubleshooting problems, identifies and create solution
- Performs technical testing of fiber optic cables in the field
- Visually identifies fibers through labeling and color-coding
