Description

1.    Job summary

 

Responsible for the timely and accurate posting of production costs from collating allocating & analyzing monthly actual production costs . Work closely with the Accounting Head in managing the organization's cash flow, ensure liquidity status , optimize financial operations and contribute the strategic plans to maximize the use of available funds.

 

2.    Duties and Responsibilities

 

Cost Accounting:

·        Allocates Freight, duties & taxes to corresponding materials purchased

·        Monitors the following and submits monthly monitoring to Accounting Head

o   Advances to suppliers (Aging report)

o   Goods in transit

·        Submits on a timely basis the reports listed below including other related reports that maybe required:

  • Cost of goods manufactured and sold
  • Comparative schedules – labor/inventories/variance analysis
  • Work-In-Process and Finished Goods Listings
  • Prepares and submits promptly inventory listing report to BIR on the required submission date.
  • Schedules and organizes the activities of verifiers during the periodic physical inventory (including count of assets) and handles issues related to the function during the actual conduct of the count.
  • Analyzes variance report during MEI count, the validity of variance explanations, and the efficacy of corrective actions before posting to the system
  • Checks accuracy and completeness of documents supporting purchases from Logistics warehouses and posts these in the accounting system.
  • Analyzes impact of inventory adjustments in product costing
  • Perform monthly cost allocation process
  • Posts monthly adjustment of capacity costs, ensuring all value entries are posted to GL.
  • Close the monthly costing process after the cost per item is adjusted.
  • Coordinates with the cost analyst in updating cost control policies and procedures.
  • Assists the cost analyst in his or her cost analysis functions and will be a backup employee when the need arises.

Financial Accounting:

·        Manages daily cash position, including forecasting and validating reconciliation of cash balances by the Accounting Clerk, ensuring sufficient funds are available to meet operational requirements.

·        Reviews Aging Analysis, of both accounts receivable and payables,

·        Performs quality control review of cash/check disbursements to ensure work complies with all related disbursement procedures and financial control policies to reduce erroneous payments, theft and fraud.

·        Coordinates with various departments, esp. Procurement and Sales, to gather and analyze cash-related data, such as accounts receivable and payables, and makes actionable recommendations maximizing liquidity and minimizing the cost of funds.

·        Collates monthly actual costs per department and send analysis on actual costs versus budget per department.

·        Responsible for Fixed Asset accounting & control

·        Recommends controls to keep track of the company's financial operations.


·        Other Responsibilities:

Requirement

  • Must be a Certified Public Accountant or its equivalent degree (MBA)
  • Must have at least 3 years’ experience working it a cost accounting related position in a manufacturing company
  • Experience in BIR Taxes , Financial Analysis , Budget Preparation , Liquidity Reports and Inventory
  • Must have sound knowledgeable in cost accounting principles and practices, cash management controls, inventory management controls and procedures
  • Proficient in MS office applications
  • Focused on results and able to meet tight deadlines
  • Able to communicate and work effectively with interfaces from other depts. and management
  • Has good leadership skills
