A Tax Accountant is responsible for ensuring that a company complies with Philippine tax laws and regulations while minimizing tax risks. They prepare tax returns, maintain tax records, support audits, and provide tax-related advice.

Responsibilities

Prepare and file BIR tax returns (VAT, Withholding Tax, Income Tax, Documentary Stamp Tax, etc.).

Ensure timely and accurate tax compliance with BIR and other government agencies.

Reconcile tax accounts with the general ledger.

Prepare schedules and supporting documents for tax audits and BIR assessments.

Monitor changes in Philippine tax laws and recommend compliance measures.

Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements and tax provisions.

Process tax payments and maintain tax filing records.

Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and government agencies.

Assist in business permit renewals and other regulatory compliance.

Recommend tax-saving opportunities while ensuring full legal compliance

Job Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred; many employers require it for tax-focused roles.

At least 2–5 years of experience in tax accounting or taxation.

Strong knowledge of Philippine taxation, BIR regulations, and accounting standards.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, Xero).

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
