The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for overseeing end-to-end supply chain operations, including demand planning, procurement, inventory management, warehousing, and distribution. This role ensures product availability across food and non-food categories while optimizing costs, efficiency, and service levels.


Key Responsibilities

Supply Chain Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Forecast demand and plan inventory to support sales targets and promotions.
  • Establish efficient replenishment systems for stores.

Procurement & Vendor Management

  • Manage sourcing and procurement of food and non-food products.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service level agreements with suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance, lead times, and compliance standards.

Inventory Management

  • Oversee inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability while minimizing excess.
  • Implement inventory control measures to reduce shrinkage, spoilage, and obsolescence.
  • Manage stock aging, especially for perishable goods.

Warehousing & Distribution

  • Supervise warehouse operations, storage, and logistics processes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate distribution to retail stores.
  • Optimize transportation routes and delivery schedules to reduce costs.

Operations & Process Improvement

  • Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements across the supply chain.
  • Drive automation and system improvements (ERP, WMS, forecasting tools).
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory standards.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with merchandising, category managers, finance, and store operations.
  • Support product launches, promotions, and seasonal demand fluctuations.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track KPIs such as service level, fill rate, inventory turnover, and logistics cost
  • Prepare reports and provide insights for senior management.
  • Develop contingency plans for supply disruptions.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5–10 years experience in supply chain, logistics, or operations within retail, FMCG, or general merchandise.
  • Experience handling either food (perishables) and non-food categories is highly preferred.
