Solar Technician

The Solar PV Technician is responsible for the installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. The role ensures that all installations are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards, electrical codes, and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Install solar PV panels, mounting structures, inverters, batteries, and other system components.
• Perform electrical wiring and connections for solar PV systems.
• Conduct site inspections and assist in site preparation before installation.
• Test, commission, and troubleshoot solar PV systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on installed solar systems.
• Inspect equipment and materials to ensure quality and compliance with project specifications.
• Read and interpret electrical diagrams, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Ensure all work complies with electrical codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Coordinate with engineers, project supervisors, and other team members to complete projects on schedule.
• Prepare daily accomplishment reports and installation documentation.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in good condition.
• Respond to service calls and resolve technical issues related to solar PV systems.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Project Engineer or Site Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Electrical Technology, Electronics Technology, Industrial Technology, or a related technical/vocational course. A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is an advantage.
• At least 1–2 years of experience in solar PV installation, electrical installation, or construction. Fresh graduates with relevant training or OJT experience are encouraged to apply.
• Basic knowledge of solar photovoltaic systems and electrical installations.
• Ability to read electrical plans, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
• Familiarity with the use of electrical testing tools and hand tools.
• Physically fit and willing to work at heights and in outdoor environments.
• Willing to travel and be assigned to project sites nationwide.
• Possession of NC II in Electrical Installation and Maintenance (EIM) or a TESDA certification is an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV installations.
• Knowledge of solar inverters, batteries, and net metering systems.
• Experience in preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of solar systems.
• Valid driver's license is an advantage.
