Key Responsibilities


Financial Management

Manage the company’s overall finance and accounting functions.

Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Monitor the company’s financial position, profitability, working capital, and cash flow.

Provide management with timely and accurate financial analysis and recommendations.

Ensure proper recording, classification, and reporting of all financial transactions.

Safeguard company assets and ensure appropriate financial controls are maintained.


Accounting and Financial Reporting

Supervise the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Review general ledger accounts, journal entries, reconciliations, and accounting schedules.

Ensure accurate accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and inventory accounting.

Review and approve accounting transactions within delegated authority.

Ensure financial reports are completed accurately and on time.

Maintain complete and organized accounting records for audit and regulatory purposes.


Budgeting and Financial Planning

Lead the preparation of the company’s annual operating budget.

Prepare project-specific budgets and financial forecasts.

Develop rolling cash-flow forecasts based on project schedules and expected collections and payments.

Monitor actual results against budgets and investigate significant variances.

Provide management with recommendations to improve profitability and control costs.

Support long-term financial planning and business expansion initiatives.


Cash Flow and Treasury Management

Monitor daily cash balances and working capital requirements.

Develop and maintain short-term and long-term cash-flow forecasts.

Manage payment priorities based on operational and project requirements.

Monitor customer collections and overdue accounts.

Ensure timely payment of suppliers, subcontractors, employees, taxes, and other obligations.

Coordinate with banks regarding deposits, credit facilities, loans, guarantees, and other financial requirements.

Recommend appropriate working-capital strategies to management.


Accounts Receivable and Revenue Management

Supervise customer invoicing and collection activities.

Monitor accounts receivable aging and overdue balances.

Coordinate with Sales and Project Teams regarding customer billing requirements.

Review progress billing documentation before submission to customers.

Monitor retention receivables and project-related claims.

Develop collection strategies for overdue accounts.

Report significant collection risks to management.


Accounts Payable and Procurement Controls

Supervise supplier and subcontractor payment processes.

Review invoices, purchase orders, contracts, delivery documents, and approvals before payment.

Ensure proper three-way matching where applicable.

Monitor supplier balances and payment schedules.

Coordinate with Procurement and Project Teams to resolve invoice discrepancies.

Ensure payments comply with approved budgets and company authorization procedures.


Payroll and Employee-Related Accounting

Coordinate payroll processing and verify payroll-related accounting entries.

Ensure proper recording of salaries, benefits, deductions, and government contributions.

Maintain confidentiality of employee financial information.


Tax and Regulatory Compliance

Ensure timely preparation and filing of applicable tax returns and government reports.

Monitor compliance with applicable accounting, tax, and financial regulations.

Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, tax consultants, and government agencies.

Review tax computations and supporting schedules.

Maintain complete documentation for tax audits and regulatory inspections.

Monitor changes in tax and accounting regulations and recommend necessary adjustments.


Internal Controls and Risk Management

Develop and maintain effective financial control procedures.

Establish appropriate authorization and segregation-of-duties controls.

Review financial processes to identify risks, weaknesses, and potential fraud.

Conduct periodic reviews of accounting and financial procedures.

Recommend improvements to strengthen controls and operational efficiency.

Ensure company policies are consistently followed by finance and operational departments.


Audit Management

Coordinate annual external audits and other financial audits.

Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation.

Respond to auditor requests and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.

Implement corrective actions arising from audits.

Maintain audit-ready financial records.


Management Reporting and Business Analysis

Prepare monthly management reports covering revenue, expenses,

profitability, cash flow, and project performance.

Prepare budget-versus-actual analysis.

Provide financial analysis for new projects, investments, equipment purchases, and major contracts.

Evaluate project and company profitability.

Identify financial risks and opportunities.

Present financial results and recommendations to senior management.
