Job Description

PawPay is looking for a dedicated QA Tester to own quality assurance across our product. Right now, testing has been handled informally by our Product team alongside their core responsibilities; this role exists to change that. You'll be the first dedicated tester on the team, responsible for building out proper test coverage, catching issues before they reach users, and creating repeatable QA processes as we grow. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to build a QA function from the ground up rather than slot into an existing one.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own manual testing across our web platform, functional, regression, edge-case, and exploratory testing, including our mobile-first portal
  • Test across browsers and devices using BrowserStack to ensure consistent behaviour and catch cross-browser/device issues
  • Write and maintain clear, structured test cases and test plans tied to product requirements
  • Log, triage, and track bugs through to resolution, working closely with engineering and product
  • Partner with the Product Manager during discovery and pre-release to flag risks and edge cases early
  • Build out a regression test suite and define release sign-off criteria
  • Recommend and help introduce test automation tools/frameworks as the product scales
  • Monitor post-release issues and help build a feedback loop between production incidents and test coverage
  • Help establish QA process, documentation, and testing standards for the team

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience in QA/software testing, ideally in a startup or fast-moving product environment
  • Strong understanding of manual testing methodologies (functional, regression, UAT, exploratory)
  • Comfortable writing clear bug reports and test documentation
  • Experience with BrowserStack or similar cross-browser/device testing tools
  • Experience testing responsive/mobile-first web products and/or payment-related products is a strong plus
  • Familiarity with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, or similar)
  • Basic exposure to test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright) is not required, but a plus
  • Detail-oriented, methodical, and comfortable working independently in an early-stage environment
  • Good communicator, able to explain issues clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
