Software Engineer - Backend

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in application or production support
• Strong analytical, technical, and troubleshooting skills
• Solid backend engineering fundamentals with experience supporting distributed systems
• Hands-on experience with Java/Spring Boot, Python, and JavaScript-based backend services
• Proven experience working with Azure, GCP/UDP, BigQuery, and Databricks
• Strong RDBMS background using MS SQL and DB2
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Self-driven, proactive, and detail-oriented
• Comfortable working independently or as part of a team
• Willingness to work in a 24×7 support environment (on-call, weekends, holidays as needed)
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced, support-oriented environment with shifting priorities
• Strong time-management and customer-service mindset

Job Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end support for backend systems, APIs, and integrations built using Java, Python, Spring Boot, and cloud-native technologies
• Diagnose and resolve production incidents, implement permanent fixes, and perform minor enhancements
• Support and maintain cloud-hosted solutions on Azure, GCP/UDP, BigQuery, and Databricks
• Work with relational databases including MS SQL and DB2
• Monitor incidents, ensure SLA compliance, and escalate issues when required
• Perform root-cause analysis and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintain technical documentation and proactively update the knowledge base
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors for complex issue resolution
• Execute health checks, proactive monitoring, and ad hoc operational tasks
• Provide guidance on escalation procedures, issue handling, and process improvements
• Communicate clearly with stakeholders via email, chat, and conference calls
• Assist in testing, design, and implementation activities based on business needs
• Take ownership of functional tasks and participate in projects as a Designer, Tester, or Implementer
• Adapt quickly to changing priorities and evolving support requirements
