Job Summary

We are looking for a highly qualified Safety Officer 3 (SO3) to lead our Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) initiatives. You will be the primary authority on workplace safety, responsible for identifying risks in a corporate/BPO setting, ensuring 100% compliance with Philippine labor laws, and fostering a culture of safety across multiple departments and shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compliance Leadership: Oversee the implementation of RA 11058, DO 198-18, and DO 252-25. Act as the primary point of contact for DOLE/BWC inspections and audits.
  • Hazard Management: Conduct regular, comprehensive hazard assessments and risk management audits. Develop mitigation strategies for BPO-specific risks (e.g., fire safety, electrical hazards, and ergonomic stressors).
  • Safety Program Development: Design and lead OSH programs, including emergency drill simulations (Fire/Earthquake), mental health awareness in the workplace, and accident prevention protocols.
  • Incident Investigation: Lead the technical investigation of all workplace incidents or "near-misses," identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Training & Coordination: Facilitate safety orientations for new hires and specialized training for the OSH committee. Coordinate multi-departmental safety activities to ensure consistency across all business units.
  • Documentation: Maintain and manage all OSH-related records, including Work Accident/Illness Reports (WAIR) and Annual Safety and Health Programs (ASHP).

Qualifications & Requirements

Mandatory Training & Education

  • SO3 Certified: Must have completed the required DOLE/BWC accredited training:
  • 40-hour Basic OSH (BOSH) or COSH.
  • 48-hour SO2 Training.
  • 40-hour SO3 Specialization Training.
  • Education: Preferably a graduate of Engineering, Environmental Science, Safety Management, or an equivalent technical field.

Experience

  • At least 2 years of full-time experience in OSH, safety management, or risk management (required for SO3 competency).
  • Proven track record in safety program development, incident investigation, and conducting compliance audits.

Skills & Competencies

  • Technical Expertise: Proficient in hazard assessment methods and modern risk management techniques.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong ability to analyze data, identify trends in workplace injuries, and write technical reports.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead large-scale safety initiatives and influence management-level decision-making.
  • Communication: Effective at presenting safety protocols to diverse audiences, from frontline agents to executives.

Working Conditions

  • Environment: Must be physically fit and capable of conducting site inspections across various work areas (server rooms, production floors, utility areas).
  • Shift: Willingness to work on shifting schedules to monitor safety standards across day, mid, and night shifts.
  • Character: Must demonstrate high integrity and good moral character, serving as a role model for company values.
