Job Description

Job Summary

The Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment by implementing safety policies, conducting inspections, and promoting compliance with occupational health and safety standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and enforce company safety policies and procedures
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance
  • Monitor workplace activities to ensure employees follow safety regulations
  • Prepare and submit safety reports, incident reports, and risk assessments
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; recommend corrective actions
  • Conduct safety orientations and toolbox meetings for workers
  • Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Coordinate with management and staff on safety improvements
  • Maintain safety records, permits, and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with government safety regulations and standards
  • Assist in emergency response planning and drills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety, or related field
  • Certified Safety Officer (e.g., COSH / BOSH / SO2 certification)
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in safety-related roles (construction/manufacturing preferred)
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and standards
  • Strong observation and analytical skills
  • Good communication and leadership skills
