Description

A safety officer is responsible for overseeing the safety and health of workers in a workplace. They work to identify and assess hazards, develop and implement safety procedures, and investigate accidents and injuries.


The safety officer's job description typically includes the following responsibilities: 

  • Conduct safety audits and inspections to identify and assess hazards 
  • Develop and implement safety procedures and training programs 
  • Investigate accidents and injuries to determine the root cause and recommend corrective actions 
  • Monitor compliance with safety regulations and standards 
  • Promote safety awareness and culture in the workplace 
  • Maintain and update safety records and documentation 
  • Implement inventory system for tools, equipment and raw materials.
