Job Description

Description

  • Inspects (safety inspection) facilities operations and activities.
  • Investigates and reviews health and safety complaints/ accidents and incidents. Makes recommendations for prevention of similar future incidents.
  • Ensures that the factory is in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Observes work progress, ensures that proper safety equipment is worn and procedures are followed.
  • Coordinates and consults with different departments regarding health and safety issues in their respective areas and notifies the management staff regarding violation of safety regulations and codes.
  • Makes recommendations for corrective actions, resolves safety complaints and follow up to ensure that violations have been corrected.
  • Conducts safety & health seminars orientations and trainings for all employees, supervisors and managers.
  • Analyzes hazards and develops policies, plans and procedures to minimize risk to the public and employees.
  • Submits reports and data regarding key performance indicators for safety and health.
  • Ensures preparation of safety manuals, training outlines and employee instructions for work deemed to have recognized as hazards.
  • Attends meetings with the Management to review previous jobs and planning of future jobs.
  • Performs other functions and duties as maybe assigned or called for by his/ her immediate superior from time to time.

Requirements

  • At least (3) years of work experience as Safety Officer, one (1) year of which in food manufacturing industry.
  • SAFETY OFFICER (SO3) – Must have relevant training or experience in safety and health. With mandatory 40 hours basic OSH training course applicable to the industry and additional 48 hours of advanced/ specialized occupational safety training course relevant to the industry.
  • Must be a Chemical/ Mechanical/ Electrical/ Industrial Engineering course graduate , preferably holder of professional license, but not required.
