The Rigger is responsible for installing, maintaining, and upgrading telecommunications equipment on towers, poles, and other elevated structures. The role involves climbing towers, mounting antennas and related hardware, routing cables, and ensuring all installations comply with safety standards and technical specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Tower & Structure Work

• Climb telecom towers, masts, and poles to install and maintain telecommunications equipment.

• Install mounting brackets, antenna supports, and other structural components.

• Assist in tower reinforcement, maintenance, and inspection activities.

• Equipment Installation

• Install and align antennas, microwave dishes, and radio equipment.

• Mount and secure equipment such as RRUs, antennas, and microwave links.

• Route and secure feeder cables, fiber cables, and grounding systems.

• Cable & Connectivity Work

• Install and manage coaxial cables, fiber cables, and connectors.

• Perform cable dressing, labeling, and weatherproofing.

• Assist with equipment testing and commissioning.

• Safety Compliance

• Follow all tower climbing safety procedures and fall protection protocols.

• Conduct pre-climb safety inspections of tools, harnesses, and climbing equipment.

• Ensure compliance with company and regulatory safety standards.

• Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Assist in diagnosing and resolving equipment or connectivity issues.

• Perform routine inspections and maintenance of tower equipment.

• Documentation

• Maintain records of installation work, equipment used, and maintenance activities.

• Report site conditions and project progress to supervisors.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or technical/vocational certification.

• 1–3 years experience in telecommunications tower work or related field.

• Ability to climb towers and work at heights.

• Knowledge of basic telecom equipment installation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in telecom tower installation or maintenance.

• Certification in tower climbing or rigging safety.

• Familiarity with antenna installation, microwave links, or fiber cable routing.
