Institutional Sales Associate

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Business Development

- Prospect, cold call, and secure new food service accounts within an assigned territory.

- Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales quotas.

- Present and sell products  to chefs, owners, purchasing managers, and distributors.

- Conduct product demonstrations, tastings, and menu integration consultations.

2. Account Management

- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing food service accounts.

- Conduct regular in-person or virtual visits to upsell, cross-sell, and ensure customer satisfaction.

- Monitor inventory turnover and assist clients with ordering forecasts.

- Resolve delivery, quality, or billing issues in coordination with internal operations teams.

- Manage travel schedules, expense reports, and sample inventory.

Qualifications

Required

- 1-2 + years of sales experience (food service, hospitality, or B2B outside sales preferred).

- Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets.

- Strong presentation, negotiation, and closing skills.

- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Preferred

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Culinary Arts, or related field.

- Existing relationships with distributors (e.g., US Foods, Sysco, Gordon Food Service) or local restaurant groups.
