Restaurant Manager

A restaurant manager oversees daily operations, including staff supervision, customer service, budgeting, and food safety compliance to ensure profitability and high service standards. They handle hiring, scheduling, inventory, and customer complaints, often working over 40 hours/week, including nights and weekends. Key skills include leadership, communication, and financial management. 

Key Responsibilities

• Operations Management: Overseeing front-of-house (service) and back-of-house (kitchen) to ensure smooth daily functioning.
• Staff Leadership: Recruiting, training, supervising, and mentoring staff, as well as managing schedules and payroll.
• Customer Experience: Handling customer complaints, soliciting feedback, and ensuring high satisfaction levels.
• Financial Performance: Managing budgets, tracking costs, and implementing strategies to increase profitability.
• Compliance: Ensuring adherence to health, safety, and licensing regulations.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Experience: Proven experience in food service or retail management.
• Education: High school diploma, though a Bachelor’s degree in hospitality or business is often preferred.
• Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
• Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with restaurant management software and inventory systems.
