Job Summary

The R&D Formulator is responsible for the formulation, development, and improvement of beauty and personal care products such as shampoo, lotion, conditioner, perfume, and other cosmetic items. This role involves hands-on laboratory work, product testing, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure products meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards from concept to commercialization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Formulate and develop new beauty and personal care products such as shampoo, lotion, conditioner, perfume, and related cosmetic items.
• Mix and test chemicals to achieve desired texture, stability, fragrance, and effectiveness.
• Improve existing formulations for better efficacy, cost-efficiency, and product stability.
• Conduct laboratory tests, product trials, and evaluations to ensure safety, quality, and performance.
• Research new raw materials, suppliers, and technologies relevant to product innovation.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality Assurance, and Marketing teams to support scale-up and commercialization.
• Prepare technical documentation, product specifications, and stability reports for regulatory submission.
• Ensure compliance with FDA, DOH, GMP, and ISO standards.
• Provide technical support for production troubleshooting and quality improvements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, or related field.
• Licensed Chemist or Licensed Chemical Technician is an advantage.
• Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in R&D within the beauty/cosmetics or personal care industry.
• Must be knowledgeable in mixing and handling chemicals for shampoo, lotion, conditioner, and perfume formulations.
• Strong understanding of raw materials, cosmetic formulations, and stability testing.
• Familiarity with GMP, ISO, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
• Creative, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
