Job Title: Fabricator (Battery

Pack & Cell Assembly)

Job Summary

The Fabricator is responsible for

the fabrication, assembly, modification, and repair of battery pack enclosures,

battery module frames, and cell fixtures for electric vehicles. The role involves

welding, metal fabrication, battery cell mounting, and mechanical assembly

while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate battery pack enclosures, battery trays, module frames, and mounting brackets based on engineering drawings.
• Perform Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and other fabrication processes as required.
• Assemble battery cells and modules according to approved work instructions.
• Install cell holders, busbars, insulation materials, and mechanical supports.
• Cut, grind, drill, bend, and finish metal components using fabrication equipment.
• Read and interpret fabrication drawings, mechanical drawings, and technical specifications.
• Ensure proper alignment, dimensions, and structural integrity of fabricated components.
• Assist in battery pack assembly, repair, refurbishment, and cell replacement activities.
• Operate fabrication tools and machinery safely, including welding machines, grinders, drills, and cutting equipment.
• Inspect fabricated parts for dimensional accuracy and weld quality.
• Perform minor repairs and modifications to battery pack housings and structural components.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of fabrication tools and work areas
• Follow all workplace safety procedures, especially when working near lithium-ion battery components.
• Coordinate with engineers and technicians regarding fabrication requirements and design improvements.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate, Vocational Graduate, or
• Technical Diploma in Welding, Fabrication, or a related field.
• NC II Holder in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) is required.
• Experience in metal fabrication, welding, and mechanical assembly.
• Experience in battery pack fabrication or electric vehicle assembly is an advantage.
• Ability to read fabrication drawings and engineering sketches.
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy materials.
